The spacious, two-story cabin is located on a picturesque bluff,
where guests can enjoy the view from both front and back porches.
To maintain the historic feel of an early 1900’s homestead,
the Loves traveled around the country to furnish the cabin with
antiques and collectibles reminiscent of the era. In addition,
Rick’s study of old carpentry from the period teamed with the craftsmanship and influences of "Master Builder" Jim Good is evidenced by the cabin's intricate woodwork from the cedar
porch railings to the Douglas Fir trim and door paneling. Most
of the wood found on the cabin comes directly from the property
with some additional wood brought in from other parts of the
state.
The main floor of the cabin includes a cozy dining area, a spare
bedroom with adjoining bath and walk-in shower, and a living
room with a stone fireplace with a custom mantel made from rock
found on the property. The first floor also includes a kitchen
with full amenities including a digital electric stove, microwave,
dishwasher, garbage disposal, icemaker, and an adjacent laundry
room with a washer and dryer.
The cabin ideally houses up to four guests with a master suite
located on the second floor. There, guests are invited to unwind
in the restored claw foot tub and shower and retreat to a
king-size bed draped in fine linens and down pillows –
all to ensure a comfortable night’s rest. And upon awakening,
guests can enjoy the suite’s towering window views, which
show the cabin’s surroundings from every direction.
From the cabin, guests can immediately enjoy the natural beauty
of the property. In just twenty-minutes, guests can hike up
to one of the property’s waterfalls. In fact, guests are
encouraged to explore the property and discover its beauty and
historic remnants from the original homestead including stone
wall ruins, and old spring wells. As the property is situated
right in the heart of the Ozarks, guests can experience first-hand
soaring bald eagles, wild turkey, deer and yes, even fox (as
you may have guessed.)
At night, guests are invited to soak their tired muscles in
the private, secluded hot tub located just outside the cabin
on the bluff overlooking the valley. From the tub’s vantage
point, guests have a picture-perfect view of the night’s
stars while surrounded in complete peace and quiet.
